Book Covers
As a lover of books, I like reimagining book covers for some of my favourite books that reflect and echo their stories and themes. Some of them were done for class assignments and others I did as professional work.
“The Very Best of Mekong Review”
Professional Work (2022)A anthology collection of articles from the esteemed Southeast Asian literary review ‘Mekong Review’, published under Epigram Books. I designed the full cover for this title using one of Mekong Review’s cover illustrations and typography.
“Breakfast at Tiffany’s”
Class Assignment (2019)For this piece, it was done using a mash-up of photographs and a focus on typography. The cover is meant to convey the ephemerality of the main character, Holly Golightly, as I liken her and the themes to glass writings that fade away as dreams do.
“Animal Farm”
Class Assignment
(2016)
For this piece, it is illustrated in the Russian Constructivism style to reflect the book being an allegory of Soviet Communism. The concept is based on one of the themes of the book: the pigs, formerly comrades of the other animals, grow to resemble the original oppressors, humans.
